Our Love + Tenderness Ritual: Shower Yourself + Others With Love

We at GDV enjoy engaging in meditation as a practice and try to incorporate it into our every day, even if it’s just for a moment or two. As we move into “The Season Of Love” with Valentine’s Day just behind us and Spring up ahead, we thought it important for our daily meditations to similarly reflect new positive sentiments. Whilst focusing on mindfulness, we’ve shifted our daily meditations to be more aware of self-love, tenderness, compassion and love of others as a whole.

Many of our friends + followers are avid fans and participants in meditation. For those who have yet to find a manner of meditation that fits into your lives, there are many different schools of thought and we encourage you to explore them.

Meditation has been used for thousands of years as a way to achieve a greater connection to holy powers, meditation is commonly used by many for a multitude of reasons. Some proven benefits include reducing stress + anxiety, increasing happiness + patience and improving our sleep patterns. According to The Mayo Clinic, additional emotional benefits may include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations

  • Building skills to manage your stress

  • Increasing self-awareness

  • Focusing on the present

  • Reducing negative emotions

  • Increasing imagination and creativity

  • Increasing patience and tolerance

To complete our Love + Tenderness Ritual, we added some rose quartz crystals to hold onto as well as to be in front of us during the meditation. We also shifted from our normal incense to the beautiful new Tenderness Smokeless Incense by Bodha.

To make your own GDV Love & Tenderness Ritual At Home use the following steps:

Step 1:

Find a beautiful sunlit corner to connect, calm your mind, set intentions + remind yourself of the importance of self love.

If you find it difficult to create space for yourself, this meditation is something you are also able to do in the bath.

We recommend the following

  1. Draw a warm bath

  2. Place or wear your crystals in the bath

  3. Pour in the Restorative Floral Bath

  4. Light your incense nearby and immerse your body in the water

  5. Cleanse using Rose + Cedarwood Body Wash

  6. Use Cleopatra’s Body Scrub for an aromatherapy exfoliation
