Brand
At the heart of William Edwards is a deep passion for shape, design and traditional British craftsmanship. The brand was founded in 1993 when William Edwards returned to his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent after graduating from the Royal College of Art (RCA) to establish what is now William Edwards Ltd.
William and his team became renowned for their exceptional skill in decorating fine ceramics for prestigious brands across the UK and worldwide. As traditional manufacturing declined in the Potteries, the company diversified into designing and producing bespoke bone china for the world’s most discerning restaurants, hotels, private clubs, retailers and royal palaces.
Committed to preserving the heritage of Stoke-on-Trent — the heart of England’s ceramics industry since Josiah Wedgwood’s late-1700s era — the company moved to the historic Anderton Works in 1995. Today, William Edwards collaborates with Michelin-star chefs and bakers, including Brett Graham and Mich Turner, designing tableware collections that are as beautiful as they are practical.
