Mrs. Weinstein’s Toffee was founded in 1995 in Santa Barbara, California, though the story of Lotte Weinstein's toffee dates back much further, to her childhood in Copenhagen, Denmark. At the age of ten, Lotte requested her mother to make toffee and was delighted by the outcome, carefully following the process and making sure to remember the recipe. Throughout her life as a wife, mother, and psychotherapist, Lotte made toffee as a special treat for family, friends, and neighbors. With a touch of chocolate, nuts, and her personal twist, Lotte and her toffees gained a reputation, leading people to urge her to start a business.
Lotte did just that, creating Mrs. Weinstein’s Toffee which later became a part of Sweet Shop USA in 2001. Today, the toffees are made in Mount Pleasant, Texas and people from all over the country can indulge in the sweet life as one of Lotte's friends and neighbors.
