Brand
Allan H. Palecek’s journey began in the late 60s as an Air Force pilot, flying missions across Southeast Asia. Returning home, he was inspired by the handcrafted, natural-fiber accessories he’d seen overseas.
In 1974, he launched PALECEK in San Francisco with a collection of rattan baskets that quickly sold out. His commitment to quality and relationships with artisans turned a small venture into a leader in luxury furnishings.
His son, Andrew T. Palecek, grew up in the business, watching his father’s dedication to craftsmanship. By 2004, Andrew was leading creative direction, blending sustainability with innovation.
Today, PALECEK is a recognized name in design, with showrooms across the U.S. and a solar-powered headquarters in California. In 2020, Allan was inducted into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame, a recognition of his lasting influence on the industry.
