8 Places To Travel For President's Day Weekend
After a full start to the winter–Christmas, New Year's and perhaps even a January reset...oh my–each year, we greatly look forward to a midwinter break, President's Day Weekend!
Originally created as a commemoration of George Washington's birthday (and later President Lincoln's birthday too), most of us take it as an opportunity to relax, rejuvenate or whisk ourselves away to a different setting. So, whether you're a snow bunny or a snowbird, discover the perfect pieces to suit your scene.

VAIL, CO
Our favorite place to ski in Colorado (no offense to the Aspen or Telluride lovers). Vail is a must for anyone who hasn't visited before. Conveniently located on one mountain, the conditions are perfect for every level of skier (or snowboarder). The charming, Bavarian-style village, is filled with great restaurants + shops to occupy you when you're not on the slopes. For traditional Après-Ski fun, head to The Red Lion. For dinner we love Osaki's and La Tour.
Twin Farms in Vermont
A destination within itself and set on 300 acres of land, this multi-award winning escape is everything you need to rejuvenate yourself this President's Day weekend. With impeccable seasonal menus, scenic views, a private ski mountain, and varying accommodations from suites to private cottages, Twin Farms is the ultimate, under-the-radar destination.
WHITEFISH, MT
For those of you trying to escape the lines in Vail, Aspen, and Jackson Hole, look no further than Whitefish, MT, one of our favorite destinations where we've loved living, skiing + living. Whitefish offers a combination of small town charm with the beauty of an untouched setting (think Yellowstone). Whitefish Mountain Resort (located on Big Mountain) has a generous range of slopes with a more intimate, western setting with no lift line. It's our favorite place to come back to time and time again. We love to hit The Great Northern for drinks in town with the locals après ski.
Watch Hill, RI
Known more recently as the coastal town where Taylor Swift has a home, Watch Hill has been a wellknown oceanside escape for many decades. At the heart of this quaint village is Ocean House, a fabulously picturesque hotel, spa and member's club. Relax and rejuvenate while enjoying walks on the beach, local seafood dishes and calming spa treatments. And if you're lucky enough, you might catch a book signing by owner and author, Deborah Royce.

Palm Beach, FL
One of our favorite places, Palm Beach is as picturesque as you'd expect. From the palm tree lined streets, to the stunning architecture to the beautiful beaches, and the five star restaurants, it has everything. One of our favorite places to spend time is The Colony Hotel, right near iconic Worth Avenue (we also love their in house restaurant/bar, Swifties). Our favorite dining spots? Try Cafe Boulud and Le Bilboquet.
Sensei Lanai in Hawaii
Based in Lanai, Hawaii, this stellar retreat is truly for those who are looking for some escape. Different to the typical setting of Honolulu, Lanai is surrounded by breathtaking mountainside views. Enjoy first class amenities, relaxing activities and exceptional dining from the Nobu restaurant within the hotel. It's a paradise found.
Canouan Island
One of our favorite, lesser known islands in the Caribbean, Canouan Island is a hidden gem. Though still undiscovered by the maddening crowds, one can find exclusive, luxury hotels such as the Mandarin Oriental and Soho House Canouan, depending on what you're looking for this vacation. Enjoy stunning views, exceptional activities and fresh, clean menus at each of these. A long weekend won't seem long enough!
Miami, FL
A vibrant metropolis unlike any other in the US, Miami is the perfect, long weekend escape. Enjoy lounging by the pool at The One Hotel or The Four Seasons, relaxing by the beach or having a nice afternoon lunch. Some of our favorite places to dine are The Surf Club, Mandolin, Uchi and L'Atelier Joël Robuchon. Be sure to explore the amazing art galleries browse around the Design District and SoFi areas.
