The GDV Quarantini
As we gear up for another sequestered weekend at home, why not wind down with the ultimate recipe for the GDV Quarantini? It’s guaranteed to ease the angst we’re sure you’re feeling after a couple weeks inside.
THE RECIPE
Serves 1
GINGER AND ROSEMARY SYRUP
Chunk of ginger, sliced (~1 oz)
chunk of turmeric, sliced (~0.5 oz)
3-5 small rosemary stems
2 TBSP agave
GRAPEFRUIT-LIME COCKTAIL
1 1/2 ounces freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice
1/2 ounce lime juice
1 ounce ginger and rosemary syrup
2 ounces vodka
dash of cayenne pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
Ginger and rosemary syrup: Cut ginger & turmeric in thin slices. Take rosemary and vigorously roll between your hands. Place them in a small saucepan and add 1/2 cup of water. Cover and bring to a boil, then remove from heat and leave to steep for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes add agave.
Grapefruit-Lime Cocktail: Pour all ingredients over ice in a martini shaker. Shake, then strain into chilled martini glass. Choose a garnish of your choice for presentation: a grapefruit slice, a lime slice or a rosemary sprig.
