Michael Wainwright creates functional art for your table and home. Getting his hands dirty in clay since the age of 7, he graduated from NYU in 1991 with a degree in clay sculpture. Not knowing what he wanted to do for a living, he sold his handmade wares in street fairs and craft shows around New York City on weekends, carting his wares on a hand truck on the subway. Now known for fusing clay, glass, or stainless steel with 24k gold or platinum, Michael has turned his artisanal knowledge from the studio pottery world into a foundation for creating sophisticated glass and stonewares with a delightfully unique textural element that help make any occasion more pleasing.
