Fischersund's masterful scented candles are made using recycled soy wax, wooden wicks, and essential oils sustainably extracted from wild Icelandic herbs. The No. 54 fragrance is woody and warm with comforting notes of vetiver, patchouli and musk.
In his own words, Jónsi describes this poetic blend as: "Fresh coat of varnish on a wooden shed. Uprooted moss, wet dirt, and vetiver roots. Burnt car tires on hot asphalt and dry patchouli. Heavy slow-drying oil painting. Icelandic alpine fir, footsteps in frozen grass, and salt liquorice. Dirty leather, animalistic musk, and ammonia."
Inspired by the the unique natural herbs + plants found in Iceland, Fischersund, founded in 2017, is a family run perfumery created by Jónsi Birgisson (of acclaimed post-rock band Sigur Rós and self-taught 'nose') and his family. Each perfume, made of a blend of the highest quality ingredients, is meant to transport through a harmonious composition of scents inspired by nostalgia, poetry, and music. All three of Jónsi's fragances are made with both masculine and feminine in mind. After mixing the formulations by hand, each product is then hand-poured and sustainably packaged in Iceland, for the cleanest formulation from start to finish.
